Our Diversity Works Here RBC Event Series are designed to break barriers and create a unique personalized experience for talent from diverse communities. We create opportunities for women, Persons with Disabilities, Indigenous Peoples, Newcomers to Canada, and the LGBT+ community to network and gain insights from RBC hiring managers and recruiters to explore rewarding careers at RBC.
Between 2017 and 2020, the RBC Inclusive Recruitment team, in partnership with recruiters and businesses, supported over 5000 pre-arrival and newcomer job seekers through our Diversity Works Here Event Series, which includes our signature in-person events, workshops as well as webinars.

TRIEC Mentoring Partnership
RBC has been a proud supporter and partner of TRIEC Mentoring Partnership for more than a decade and has hired 214 newcomer mentees since the beginning of the partnership, 37 of whom were hired in 2019. RBC is also the lead sponsor of the National Mentoring Partnership.
The Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC) is dedicated to addressing immigrant professional underemployment in the Greater Toronto Area. TRIEC assists job-ready immigrant professionals to navigate the local labour market and expand their networks, while partnering with key organizations to promote inclusive workplaces.
The TRIEC Mentorship Partnership matches match job-ready immigrant mentees with mentors from employer partners. RBC has been a proud supporter and partner of TRIEC Mentoring Partnership for more than a decade and has hired 214 newcomer mentees since the beginning of the partnership. In 2019, the TRIEC Mentorship expanded nationally with RBC as the lead sponsor. The National Mentorship Partnership matches immigrant professional mentees with mentors from employer partners in their occupations across Canada.
RBC has been partnering with Career Edge as a top employer since 1999. This program has provided over 400 Newcomers to Canada with valuable work experience and exposure to RBC. Career Edge is an organization dedicated to providing paid internships to Skilled Newcomers to Canada. These 6-12 month contract positions exist across many different areas of the bank. In 2018 RBC launched our Newcomer Meeting Place which aims to provide newcomers value-added service beyond banking and help them launch their new lives in Canada. Our Meeting Places host regular job searching workshops to help newcomers break cultural barriers and launch their career in Canada.
In 2019 RBC Ventures Arrive was launched, aiming to help newcomers build their social and professional networks, to feel supported throughout their journey in making Canada home. RBC partners with ACCES Employment to co-host virtual webinars aiming to help newcomers as they find employment in Canada, and educate them about the Canadian financial landscape. This program helps us reach newcomers who are in Canada, but also those who have not yet landed in the country, to assist them on their settlement journey.
