Are you a woman in tech who wants to network, gain new skills, and put them to the test in a fun and friendly environment? The RBC Battlesnake Developer Fellowship might be for you.

This new Fellowship, a partnership between Battlesnake and RBC, is an exciting new initiative aimed at recognizing and supporting female-identifying and non-binary developers from across Canada, to participate in a friendly programming competition while learning new technologies from some of the best in the biz.

“We are excited to partner with Battlesnake to recognize and support female, female-identifying and non-binary developers,” says Anthony Vacca, Senior Director, Open Source Program Office & Developer Experience. “Battlesnake is a fun way to build and test your algorithm skills in a safe and fun environment, and we hope that this partnership will help women in tech continue to hone their skills.”

Battlesnake is a multi-player programming game that brings together developers of every skill level to compete and collaborate in solving problems. Participants can learn new languages, try a new cloud platform, or even begin machine learning. Battlesnake’s mission is to create a community where developers can connect and have fun while learning new technologies and advancing their skills. Battlesnake is an inclusive organization that welcomes and encourages participants of all races, ethnicities, genders, ages, abilities, religions and sexual orientations to participate.

Winners of the RBC Battlesnake Developer Fellowship will receive mentorship from Battlesnake and Tech @ RBC teams, as well as a variety of resources to support both their Battlesnake competition and their own professional pursuits. Recipients will also be gifted $200 in AWS credits, a one-year Hacker plan from Replit, exclusive swag from Battlesnake and RBC, and a feature profile and story on the Battlesnake blog and website.
