What mentorship opportunities have been availed to you to succeed in your career?

Over my 22 years at RBC, I’ve been fortunate to have a few executives take enough interest in me and my career to offer (and set-up) coaching discussions and make themselves available to me as I required.  These conversations provided me insight into different pathways to success and how to fill gaps in my development as I progresses into senior leadership roles.
Janelle Landon, Director, Product Owner, Payment Modernization

What has been your highlight working at RBC as a Black professional?

I am still in awe at the amount of support; mentorship; and sponsorship; that I have been receiving from leaders at the Bank, across racial lines. The support I get as a Black professional is overwhelming with an honest display of intent to see me succeed through actions that stimulate my development both professionally and personally.

What advice would you share with a prospective candidate about working at RBC?

Build a long term plan first, followed by an midterm plan and then a short term plan. In that order! Not a traditional way of thinking. But, It will allow you to be comfortable always being uncomfortable. Ensuring you reach your goals.
