Come Back to Better

Work as a catalyst for change

We're lawyers, strategists, advocates and big-picture advisors.

Make a difference and join RBC Law Group.

Come together with other outstanding minds to make a difference.

From enabling the bank to sign amicus briefs in support of human rights, to providing free legal advice to people in need, RBC Law Group has a strong tradition of pro bono and community engagement work.

“We work as strategists in a high-stakes legal environment. But beyond that, we connect by rolling up our sleeves and giving back to communities,” says Jenny Yoo, Managing Counsel (image to right). “I’m proud to work with exceptional colleagues who merge work excellence with hands-on giving.”

Community highlight: Supporting isolated older persons and adults at risk

RBC Law Group’s in-house telephone reassurance program for Dixon Hall is just one example of how our global team gives back. Every week, Law Group members based in Toronto call clients of Dixon Hall, a United Way agency that serves the city’s downtown east.

The idea came during the onset of the pandemic when Lucille D’Souza, RBC Law Group executive, asked her team for ideas on giving back during this time of need. Through their brainstorming, they developed the idea for this inhouse program, which supports isolated older persons and adults at risk. The program is co-managed by Jenny and her colleague, Joyce Li, Legal Assistant.

The volunteer initiative continues to receive full support from RBC Law Group’s executive team, including Maria Douvas, RBC’s Chief Legal Officer.

I'm so proud of how RBC Law Group colleagues around the world support the communities where we live and work. This story is just one example of how we give back and live RBC's Purpose.
