The one-year internship will expose you to a variety of roles and environments within RBC and at one of our community partners, allowing you to build essential workplace skills, participate in a mentorship program, network with other young professionals and take part in meaningful community engagement.
How many positions are available?
There are 100 positions available across Canada.
Will candidates with a financial background have an advantage if they are hired?
No. The RBC Career Launch Program is open to college and university graduates from any educational background. Associates have the opportunity to bring their own unique experiences to the role and take advantage of multiple opportunities that will complement their interests and skills.
I don’t have any previous financial services experience or business education. Should I still apply?
Absolutely. The RBC Career Launch program is designed to provide a first career experience to recent college and university graduates from any educational background or discipline.
Can I choose the branch I want to work at?
No, Associates will be placed in branches which offer best development opportunities. You will need to be flexible and available to commute up to about an hour.
Do Associates get to choose their area of focus in the second and third rotation of the program? How customized is this program for the Associates based on their particular area of interest?
Throughout the program, Associates will have the opportunity to identify their area of interest and work closely with their Career Launch Program manager to learn about opportunities in that area. While efforts will be made to align the Associate’s interest, we are not able to guarantee alignment due to availability of placements.
If I am hired as a RBC Career Launch Associate, will I receive comprehensive training on my assigned role?
RBC will provide each RBC Career Launch Associate with comprehensive learning and development opportunities that will help you succeed in your role. A combination of classroom and on-the-job training will be provided to each Associate.
What is the likelihood that I will be hired by RBC after the one-year program is complete?
The RBC Career Launch program is a one-year paid internship, aimed at providing recent graduates with a first career experience. This comprehensive experience will help Associates make decisions about their career path and increase their attractiveness to future employers. As Associates seek employment upon completion of this program, they are welcome to explore positions at RBC and apply for roles following their one-year term.
When is the RBC Career Launch?
The Canadian program will run between March 2020 and March 2021.
